Abstract
The MATLAB tool on nanoHUB gives you access to the full MATLAB desktop, including most toolboxes, Simulink®, and Simulink- based products (product list).
Using the MATLAB tool on nanoHUB, you can run scripts and Live Scripts posted on nanoHUB, including homework problems, research code and other nanotechnology examples, or use your own code. You can use MATLAB in your research and education activities including for:
- Analyzing and visualizing experiments
- Building user-friendly apps to process and visualize datasets without programming
- Using advanced algorithms, such as statistics and Deep Learning
- Developing embedded control systems using Model-Based Design
- Sharing analysis and results with research colleagues and students with MATLAB Drive or MATLAB File Exchange
- Teaching engineering and science concepts
MATLAB has an active, user-driven community with code contributions, answers to your questions, insightful posts from MathWorks engineers, and links to external communities. Engineers and scientists apply MATLAB and Simulink across disciplines, relying on a range of application-specific capabilites, including for
- AI, Data Science, and Statistics
- Robotics and Autonomous Systems
- Control systems
- Image Processing and Computer Vision
- Signal Processing
- Wireless Communications
- Mathematics and Optimization
Also available from the MATLAB tool, is Simulink, a block diagram environment for multidomain simulation and Model-Based Design. It supports system-level design, simulation, automatic code generation, and continuous test and verification of embedded systems. Simulink provides a graphical editor, customizable block libraries, and solvers for modeling and simulating dynamic systems.
This tool includes the full MATLAB IDE and most add-on toolboxes.
Quick Start Guide
- Launch the MATLAB Tool from this page.
- After a few seconds, the MATLAB splash screen will display on the screen. The MATLAB desktop should appear after an additional few seconds -- no need to click or take other actions to initiate startup.
- The Import/Export UI allows you to upload MATLAB files to your session, if you have pre-existing files you wish to work with.
- Using the same UI, you can download files from the session back to your computer.
- NOTE: The tool runs MATLAB on an external server. As a result some operations, such as loading large files or models may take some time. For example, there may be a delay when uploading examples by opening links from the MATLAB documentation.
The full MATLAB documentation is available on the MathWorks website.
