Ian Appelbaum obtained his B.S. summa cum laude in Physics and Mathematics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), and Ph.D. in Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). After spending one year as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University's Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences, he is currently an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Delaware. He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and is the recipient of the National Science Foundation's CAREER award and the University of Delaware's Outstanding Junior Faculty Member of the College of Engineering for 2008.
