# I AM STARTING TO WORK ON NANOPHOTONICS. WHAT BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE/SUBJECTS (e.g. OPTICS, QUANTUM MECHANICS???) I NEED TO HAVE?

# PLEASE GIVE ME SOME TUTORIAL/PAPER/BOOKS LINKS ON THIS.

    Of course, it depends on your background and objectives. Generally, you should be familiar with Maxwell's equations (e.g., see D.J. Griffiths, Introduction to Electrodynamics), and basic quantum mechanics (e.g., see D.J. Griffiths, Introduction to Quantum Mechanics). That should prepare you to read about nanophotonics in a textbook such as Saleh & Teich's Fundamentals of Photonics and/or Joannopoulos et al. Photonic Crystals.
