Abstract

These notebooks provide an introduction to Python coding, and were created for the 2022 Pi Day Python Workshop at Pasadena City College.  No prior knowledge of coding is needed!

These notebooks will introduce basics of Python coding and will walk you through a clever numerical method for estimating the value of pi that will introduce concepts including strings, string formatting, mathematical calculations, variable assignments, loops, random number generation, and plotting figures.
