Abstract

Kinetics of Materials and Process Design (MATE 370) is a 4-unit major course for junior-year undergraduate students of the Materials Engineering Department, Cal Poly State University. The Materials Engineering Department endorses the applications of theory to practice through its "learn-by-doing" philosophy. In this project, we have created three practical labs, by exploring and using various simulation tools, available on nanoHUB. These labs cover (a) Diffusion in Solids, (b) Nucleation, Crystallization, and Growth, and (c) Phase Transformation.
