Supriyo Datta Supriyo Datta, Ph.D. is the Thomas Duncan Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University.

He is a leading figure in the modeling and understanding of nano-scale electronic conduction, Dr. Supriyo Datta has been called “one of the most original thinkers in the field of nanoscale electronics.” He is currently the Thomas Duncan Distinguished professor at the School of Electrical Engineering at Purdue University and was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2012 for his work on quantum transport in nanoscale devices. He is also known for his work on spin electronics and molecular electronics. Dr. Datta received his B. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India in 1975. He then received both his MS and PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1977 and 1979 respectively.
