Abstract

This conference served as a platform to bring together students and faculty at Purdue to discuss emerging areas where light is harnessed to address Grand challenges facing our world. The conference featured invited talks by Purdue graduate students and post-docs conducting high-caliber research based on light, with emphasis on the big picture of the overall research area, what has been accomplished, and what grand challenges are still been faced in the field. The topics to be covered in this year’s conference include: Life Science, Quantum Photonics, Thermal Engineering, and Microelectromechanical Systems.
