Paul Scott Carney is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, and Coordinated Science Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is also the founding board member of Diagnostic Photonics.
He earned a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Rochester in 1999. His M.A. came from the University of Rochester in 1996 and his B.S. in Engineering Physics came from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Professor Carney's primary research area is electromagnetics and optics.
