BiographyCara Wojcik joined CAST in 2018 and is a Senior User Experience & Instructional Designer, helping to create intuitive experiences for educators and students interfacing with technology.
Cara’s dedication to school reform was propelled by her experience as a founding student of the Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School — established by and rooted in the pedagogy of Dr. Theodore Sizer. Carrying forward the tenets of Essential Schools and championing progressive education has been a throughline in Cara’s work ever since.
After studying studio art as an undergraduate, Cara qualified as an educator and taught visual art at public middle schools in the Greater Boston area for nine years. Guiding her curricular development was the belief that, when students are given the opportunity to create art, they gain a potent and compelling mode of communication and an instrument through which to promote social justice.
