Naheed Ferdous obtained her BSc (2009) and MSc (2011) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh before moving to North America for PhD (2013 to 2019) and Postdoc (2019 to present) in Mechanical Science and Engineering at University of Illinois at Urbana-‐Champaign. She was a lecturer in Military Institute of Science and Technology, Dhaka (2010) and Primeasia University, Dhaka (2009-‐ 2010). Her research includes the diverse areas of materials science, solid state physics, semiconductor properties and nano-‐materials. She has published three journal papers and two/three conference papers/ abstracts. Her current research focuses on atomic scale modeling for characterization and examination of optoelectronics properties of doped semiconductors. She focuses on theoretical physics and most of her work involves experimental collaborators from Materials, Chemical and Biomolecular departments at University of Illinois, National Labs in USA and Australian National University. She is a student member of American Physical Society (APS) and society of women engineers (SWE).
