Abstract

Datta's model of a nanodevice (a version of the Landauer approach) is introduced as a general way of describing nanodevices as well as bulk metals and semiconductors.

Outline:

  1. The model device
  2. The mathematical model
  3. Modes
  4. Transmission
  5. Near-equilibrium (linear) transport
  6. Transport in the bulk
  7. Summary
  8. References
