What are the NanoHUB News Feeds?
They are RSS news feeds we provide to keep you updated on the latest content and events through and from the NanoHUB. You can view the feeds here, or view the newest items on our What's New page.
What is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a XML format for distributing information, mostly web content, in an easy and manageable way. The NanoHUB uses RSS to keep users updated on the newest content published and also recent or upcoming events.
How do I use RSS?
You can utilize the NanoHUB's RSS feeds by using a News Aggregator. There are many news aggregator programs available today, a simple search for news aggregator in your favorite search engine will yield many results. The exact method used by aggregators varies, but in general, you will only have to enter a URL of the feed you want, and the program will take care of the rest. The URLs for the NanoHUB feeds may be found by following the link below.
For example, in your Google Homepage, click Add Content in the upper left hand corner. Then click Create a Section in the list. Then paste the url of the feed, in this case http://www.nanohub.org/index.php?option=com_rss into the box provided, and click Go. You should now see NanoHUB RSS on your page!
Another popular news aggregator is Bloglines. Once you have an account with Bloglines, go to the My Feeds section. Click on Add, then enter the url mentioned above into the box for Blog or Feed URL: and hit subscribe.
