FAQ

Why are some tools restricted?

Most simulation tools are open to anyone in the world. However, there are a few circumstances in which a tool might be restricted to a certain subset of users.

  1. Due to the way the underlying software is licensed, may be restricted to users on Purdue University's West Lafayette campus.
  2. Some tools use encryption or other technologies that are subject to export restrictions. These tools are restricted to users in particular countries.
  3. Tools like Workspace are restricted to tool developers, NCN PIs, or NCN partner institutions.

If you feel that you should be able to access a restricted tool, please click the "Help" link in the upper-right corner of the nanoHUB website and submit a ticket.
