Operation
Clean up a liquid dispersion of engineered nanomaterials using:
- Verify the hazard of the materials used in the dispersion (solvents and nanoparticles)
- Wet wiping (appropriate for the solvent in the dispersion)
- Other facility-approved methods that do not involve dry sweeping or the use of compressed air
- Dispose of used cleaning materials and wastes in accordance with the home Laboratory’s hazardous-waste procedures
Controls:
- PPE should be used to minimize potential for dermal and eye exposure
- Latex or nitrile clean room gloves
- Goggles or laboratory glasses
- Depending on the solvents used, verified respiratory controls
Alternatively, Control Banding may be employed when more is known about material reactivity, exposure duration and material state.
