Biography

Dongyan Xu is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and, by courtesy, in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign in 2001. He leads the Lab for Research in
Emerging Network and Distributed Services (Lab FRIENDS). His
current research focuses on virtualization technology and its
application to virtual distributed computing and to system and
software security. He has also conducted research in peer-to-peer services for wired and wireless ad hoc environments. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, Microsoft Research, and Purdue Research Foundation.
