Jon Camden is currently an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Prior to this he was a postdoctoral researcher working with Professors George Schatz and Richard Van Duyne at Northwestern University's Center for Nanofabrication and Molecular Self-Assembly. He received his B.S. in Chemistry and Music from the University of Notre Dame in 2000 and his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2005 under the direction of Professor Richard N. Zare. His research at Stanford was supported by a NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and focused on the dynamics of chemical reactions and molecular photodissociation. Current research interests include theoretical modeling of nanoparticle optical properties, surface enhanced raman spectroscopy, and gas phase reaction dynamics.
